Studio 54

I absolutely adore this seasons 1970's inspired collections that many designers have launched into.
I love the bold, bright colours used and the way they are mixed together. The prints are mainly geometrics and create a bold statement piece.
These are a few of my favourite garments from this studio 54 concept:

This is just amazing!! Enough said!

Photoshop Mood Boards

As I have finished the silk screening project of my course, I am now currently on a digital print project and will soon be given a live breif (which I'm very excited about!).

For the digital print project we have been given different tasks each day of things to do on photoshop, and yesterday we were told tocreate some mood boards.
We were asked to use an artworkwe found inspiration, a fashion image we found inspirational and to pick out a colour palette for the board.

It took me a little while to get the hang of it, but when I did I really enjoyed it and quite liked my end results, so I thought I'd post them on here!

High Fashion Transforming Clothes

As I am doing an essay on how technology and fashion are two disciplines that are combining together in high fashion, I thought I'd post a video of Hussein Chalayan's One Hundred and Eleven catwalk show, where his garments transformed whilst on the models. I think the garments are so fascinating! Chalayan collaborated with engineer Moritz Waldemeyer to create these garments. Fashion Illustrations

My friend Laura Webb, a Knitted Textiles Student at the same university as me, was showing me some of her most recent work from her current project this evening and caught my interest with some of her fashion illustrations.
I love them! I think they look really beautiful and I also really love the designs themselves. (Images below).
She has been focusing on panels and expansion, which immediately made me think of Hussein Chalayans robotic dresses; one in particular that looks very space age and has lengths of panels as the skirt, which then blows outwards to expand thedress. It then lowers the panels and drops out small, decorative rectangles onto them. (Image below fashion illustrations).
